Understand your conflict before you act

A free guided assessment. It offers a marker on a 9-stage scale, possible sources of your conflict, an estimate of your readiness to dialogue and suggestions for what comes next, with questions to reflect on and tools to move forward.

Assessment inspired by the mediation literature (Moore, Glasl, Thomas-Kilmann…). See the method and references

For which situations?

The assessment suits a conflict between individuals as well as a conflict in an organization. Pick the page that looks like your case: it leads to the quick overview with your context already chosen.

Quick or in-depth: which to choose?

Quick overview

About 5 minutes, 7 steps

  • Stage and intensity of the conflict
  • Main sources and readiness to dialogue
  • Safety check
  • First tools to use

In-depth assessment

About 10 to 12 minutes, 9 steps

  • Everything in the quick overview
  • Your reaction profile and the dynamic with the other
  • Detailed escalation indicators
  • A summary to share with a mediator

You can start with the quick version, then go deeper without starting over: your answers are kept in your browser for the session.

What the assessment does not do

  • It gives no clinical diagnosis and does not replace a psychological assessment.
  • It gives no legal advice.
  • It has not yet been validated by a psychometric study: its results are hypotheses to explore, not a verdict.

Its method, thresholds and references are detailed on the Method and references page. See the method and references.

Questions about the assessment

Is the assessment free?
Yes, it is free and needs no account.
Are my answers stored?
They stay in your browser during the session. They are neither sent nor stored on a server. At the end you choose whether to share a summary with Onesence.
How long does it take?
About 5 minutes for the quick version and 10 to 12 minutes for the in-depth version. The reflection questions are optional.
What happens if my answers signal danger?
The assessment does not steer you toward joint mediation: it first presents support resources and recommends protecting your safety before any contact with the other person.
